Web and Social Media
Much like how marketing and audience engagement are so crucial to a publication's content, a publication’s purposeful choices in how they design their web and social media presence is crucial to welcome and retain viewership.

This academic year, Pantherbook has seen some of our highest engagement numbers on our Twitter and Instagram accounts as a result of how we value social media. Through many discussions, fellow editors and I agreed unanimously that we believed Pantherbook’s social media accounts served a larger purpose in our school’s community than simply promoting published articles. We wanted Pantherbook to be the go-to source for all information regarding Franklin High School; this was understood through the importance of two separate things:
-
The responsibilities of a publication to serve as an accurate, timely source for relevant information in addition to more in-depth works
-
Our audience of mainly 13-35-year-old members of the Franklin High School community is actively involved on social media
Keeping these two ideas in mind, Pantherbook has remained a reliable source for timely school news while engaging our audience in a shared, online community. Examples of Pantherbook’s work on social media to apply to our audience are attached below.
