The Boston Globe

Writing for The Boston Globe has been an exciting part of my journalism journey and has given me a perspective of how professional journalism works. During my time as a freelance correspondent for one of the nation’s most recognizable publications, I have learned the value of attentiveness to detail as I craft pieces to be published ahead of deadlines and competing publications. Not only has this opportunity taught me the importance of having accurate facts and quotes when covering an event, but the Globe editors that I have had the chance to learn from and meet one-on-one with have helped me understand how to keep an audience engaged throughout the whole body of a piece. These lessons, as the Franklin Boys' Hockey, Franklin Girls'  Basketball, and Coach Leighton pieces show here, have been vital to my growth as a print journalist.

In my role as editor of Pantherbook, I have been able to put my learnings into practice. Some of the most thoughtful critiques I have passed on to Pantherbook staff members are a direct product of my meetings with Boston Globe editors.
