Anchoring

As a freshman, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in Franklin High School’s television production classes. Over my four years at FHS, I have had the chance to learn about and perform many television news broadcast roles, including serving as the main editor and floor director for “Panther TV.”

The news station expanded during my tenure. The Panther TV news show is now running weekly to a larger audience on YouTube. Additionally, while I am still involved with producing, editing, and directing our episodes, the confidence I have gained on camera has allowed me to diversify my broadcast journalism skillset through television anchoring.

As the featured anchor this school year, I have had to create my own scripts, pitch story ideas, and become comfortable with reading from a teleprompter, all under bright lights and big cameras. I am thankful to have learned from my anchoring experiences in August and September to produce the January sample featured in this portfolio.
