Broadcast Journalism

Broadcast journalism has been one of my most utilized means of sharing information throughout my journalism career. Our world has turned into a fast-paced, information-driven society in which people want to learn or be entertained by getting their news in more ways than just reading a paper. As a journalist in 2023, one must adapt to these societal trends and modernize their content to have their message heard and to keep listeners engaged. Broadcast journalism presents us with that opportunity.

Aside from broadcast journalism serving as the current fan-favorite in many first-world countries, it has allowed me to personally experience tremendous growth as a journalist. Whether it be through sports commentary, television anchoring, or on-camera reporting, broadcast journalism has come to represent my versatility as a journalist. After years of working to grow comfortable on and behind the camera, I now see myself as a skilled public speaker, producer, and director.

These skills further advance my outreach as a Pantherbook leader. By gaining experience in broadcast journalism, I am better prepared to teach staff members how to be more versatile journalists and embrace what I believe to be the future of media.
